"Me love you long time" is a phrase that became popular during the Vietnam War era. It is believed to have originated from the sex trade industry in Southeast Asia, where sex workers would use the phrase to attract American soldiers.
The phrase was later popularized in the film Full Metal Jacket (1987), in which a Vietnamese prostitute offers sexual services to an American soldier while saying the phrase.
Today, the phrase is considered highly offensive and derogatory, perpetuating stereotypes of Asian women as submissive and hypersexualized.
